Without customers there is no business! This is a workshop to develop knowledge and understanding about meeting the needs of customers.

Dealing With Conflict

This workshop will develop the knowledge and understanding of managing conflict and supporting individuals as required by a practising or potential first line manager.

This workshop is suitable for people new or with little experience of managing people and will enable participants to develop knowledge and understanding of motivation a team to perform as required by a practising or potential first line manager.

This course is designed for anyone who has to make presentations or address meetings, either in a work or voluntary environment, and wishes to improve their communication skills.

This workshop will develop the knowledge and understanding of solving problems and making decisions as required by a practising or potential first line manager.

Leadership – an introduction

This course aims to provide knowledge about leadership and to distinguish it from management. The concept of leadership is explored and participants will be able to evaluate their own leadership style. It aims to help participants understand the wider issues related to their own leadership style. It aims to help participants understand the wider issues related to leading teams and focus on goals and objectives. The course is suitable for owners, managers and supervisors/team leaders who are responsible for running businesses or leading teams.

Discipline and Grievance

Employment law will be covered in a practical way covering the procedures required in workplaces for discipline and grievance. The practical management of cases will be discussed. There will be an opportunity to practice interview techniques in a supportive environment with the emphasis on addressing issues such as poor performance, unauthorised absence, persistent lateness etc. This is suitable for managers/owners and supervisors/team leaders who are, or will be, responsible for the day to day management of staff.

Interviewing skills

An introductory course for people who have little or no experience of conducting interviews. The course will provide knowledge on how to conduct effective interviews and all participants will have the opportunity to conduct mock interviews in a supportive environment and receive constructive feedback.

Time Management

The potential to achieve more in your home and work life depends upon how effectively time is managed. This workshop will enable participants to identify ways to improve their use of time. The course will also include sessions on confidence building and assertiveness.

Appraisals

A workshop designed for all staff who carry out appraisals in the workplace. The course will provide guidelines on how to conduct appraisals in a positive and supportive manner to help the development of individuals.

The content will cover how to plan, structure and conduct an effective appraisal, set objectives and targets, give positive and negative feedback and agree plans for future development and performance.

If they turn out to be the wrong person for the job or there are any discriminatory ‘slip ups’ in the recruiting process – costs rise substantially. This workshop covers how to recruit quickly, cost effectively and safely.

Everyone attends meetings and often they are considered ‘a waste of time’. This workshop will provide guidance on how to hold effective meetings and help increase confidence for both those who organise meetings and attend.

Communication styles and different types of meetings will be considered along with the roles people play before, during and after meetings.
