Information, Advice and Guidance

Wessex offer objective, impartial information and advice; this may be with current or potential clients and be informal. Our service is free to all adults, confidential and delivered by competent and qualified staff in accordance with the National IAG Board Principles.

What we offer?

  • Initial information, advice and guidance on learning options, qualification pathways, support with learning and funding
  • A professional approach at all times
  • Information sent through the post - includes the up to date information from website and company literature
  • Impartial advice that includes a range of information from a variety of providers
  • Information on Apprenticeships and Train to Gain opportunities for all who qualify
  • Help clients to progress in learning and at work by developing their ability to; learn, develop transferable skills and gain new qualifications

Who are our clients?

  • Anyone who wishes to know about and/or gain qualifications/training in Child Care, Playwork, Teaching Assistants, Business Administration, Management and Customer Services
  • Apprentices - aged 17-25years old
  • Employers wishing to access information on training courses for themselves and their staff.
  • Professional development opportunities in A1 awards for potential NVQ assessors

How we offer our service

  • Arranged meetings whenever possible at a time and in a venue that suits the client's needs
  • When dealing with telephone enquiries and a meeting is not requested, a record is kept of the information provided
  • Advice and support is given throughout a clients time with us, on entry, during their course and on exit
  • We deal with all enquiries within 7 working days
  • Data will not be shared with any other outside agency, The Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act will be adhered to at all times.
  • Promote and support equality of opportunity by provision of services to meet the needs of all, regardless of ability, age, gender, sexual orientation or ethnicity

  • Managers and qualified, experienced assessors/tutors.

Collecting feedback

We regularly seek feedback on our services to ensure that they are continuously developed and improved. If you think we are doing something well, then let us know. If our services do not meet your expectations, we aim to try and resolve any concerns informally at first. If the matter cannot be resolved through these channels or if you are not a candidate/learner of Wessex Training and Assessment Ltd, please write to the Centre Manager explaining the difficulty and giving as much detail as possible. You will receive an initial response, in writing, within 7 working days.
